CATASAUQUA, PA — Samuel Colon, 24, pleaded guilty Thursday to third-degree murder in the Nov. 8, 2025, shooting death of 19-year-old Ti’Shaun Singleton, who was shot in the chest during what witnesses described as a game of “quick draw” between the two armed men inside a Catasauqua home.

Colon entered the plea before Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Judge James T. Anthony, as reported by Hoodline, which credited LehighValleyLive.com for the courtroom details. The plea record and court filings were not available to me, so this account rests on that news coverage. Under the plea arrangement, Colon faces a minimum of 6½ years and a maximum of 40 years in state prison. As part of the deal, prosecutors withdrew a felony aggravated assault charge and six misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment. In Pennsylvania, third-degree murder covers a killing committed with malice but without a specific intent to kill.

Investigators were called to a home in the 200 block of Edward Lane shortly after 4:30 p.m. that day. They found Singleton, of Allentown, dead inside. Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio ruled the death a homicide.

Witnesses told investigators that both men were armed. They were playing a game they called “quick draw.” Both men drew. Colon fired. Singleton was struck in the chest.

A child and several other people were inside the home at the time, according to Daily Voice coverage cited by Hoodline. Surveillance video reviewed by investigators showed two people inside the home during the incident. It then captured people dragging Singleton outside while several others fled. One person was later seen carrying him back inside. Colon disappeared for months after the shooting before turning himself in.

More from USA Carry:

I spend a lot of time on Pennsylvania concealed carry laws, but no statute or permit class can substitute for the basics of safe gun handling. You don’t play games with guns. Period. Treat every gun as loaded. Never point a muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy. Know your target and what is beyond it. A drawing contest between two armed people breaks all three before anyone touches a trigger. With a child and several others in the house, it put everyone in that room behind the target. This was negligence, plain and simple.

Colon is scheduled to be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2027, before Judge Anthony.
