More from USA Carry:

Family disturbances are among the most volatile situations anyone can walk into, and stepping into one changes everything in a matter of seconds. Deadly force is justified only against an imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm, whether to yourself or to someone else. The details that will decide this case are the ones the public does not have yet, including what weapon the brother had and how badly his sister was being hurt when her boyfriend fired.

Police detained the sister and her boyfriend for questioning after the shooting. No arrests had been made as of the morning reports, and no charging decision has been announced. Detectives investigate, and prosecutors make the final call.
