5.11 Rolls Out New Medical Scrubs for Healthcare Professionals
Ripstop, four-way stretch, and antimicrobial finishes are familiar territory for anyone who has worn 5.11 on duty. Now the company is putting all of it into scrubs. At the end of June, 5.11 launched a medical apparel line built for nurses and frontline healthcare staff, expanding a Professional Services category that already outfits hospital security, EMS crews, environmental services, and administrative staff.
The company says it developed the collection with working healthcare professionals, and the result reads like a duty uniform reworked for a different job site. Cargo capacity gets traded for pen slots and badge loops. The durability argument stays the same, since scrubs get laundered hard and often, and most nurses will tell you cheap ones fall apart by month six.
The 5.11 Scrub Pant is 85% polyester ripstop with 15% elastane, treated with antimicrobial and anti-static finishes. It carries stain release fabric, an articulated inseam for squatting and kneeling, an internal drawcord waistband, and deep pockets sized for the tools that actually ride along on a shift. Regular, short, and long inseams are available. The top is a V-neck with a single chest pocket and matching four-way stretch. A jogger-fit pant rounds out the line for anyone who prefers a cuffed hem.

Every one of the six colors is a hospital-approved shade. That sounds like a small detail until you have bought scrubs online and had them rejected by a dress code before your first shift.
CEO Troy Brown framed the launch around the company’s Challenge Possible tagline, pitching healthcare workers as the same kind of customer 5.11 has always chased. Whether that branding lands with nurses is a different question than whether the pants hold up, and the pants are the part worth watching.
