A Tactical .380? Meet the Beretta 80X Cheetah Tactical Special Edition

By Luke Cuenco

Beretta has continued to iterate on their surprisingly popular revival of the 80X Cheetah platform with this Tactical Special Edition. Built for real dirt-and-weather days, the new 80X Cheetah Tactical SA/DA .380 ACP now rocks a blacked-out slide, barrel, grips, and mag base pad against the bronze anodized aluminum frame, black G10 panels that bite into your hand even when it’s slick, a fiber optic front sight, and a two-slot Picatinny rail. The barrel ships threaded ½”-28 with a single-port compensator mounted right from the factory to keep the muzzle down for fast follow-ups in the field or when you want to slap on a suppressor for some quiet pest control around the barn.

The official Beretta Product catalog for the new Cheetah notes that the Tactical Special Edition comes in a dual tone look with a black slide, barrel, grips, and magazine base pad enriched with a bronze anodized frame, and that the already optimal 80X ergonomics have been improved with black G10 grip panels that ensure a solid grip even in harsh conditions.

Beretta has decided to ship the new 80X Cheetah Tactical with three 15-round magazines and +2 base pads, front and rear slide serrations, red dot-ready slide, frame safety, and even a user-adjustable trigger reset. It keeps the slim aluminum-frame DNA that made the legacy 80 series popular, but adds the new grip security and recoil control from the modernized 80X series.

The new variant of the 80X Cheetah currently only has European pricing and is listed in the catalog for €1,099 (roughly ~$1,289 USD). The Tactical Special Edition will officially launch and presumably be in stores in June 2026, and will join the rest of the rapidly expanding 80X lineup that already covers Green, Gray, Bronze, and other Tactical versions in .380 and .32 ACP.

For Beretta fans, hunters, and backcountry carriers who want a lightweight all-metal .380 that runs clean suppressed or just runs fast from the factory, this special edition delivers the goods straight out of the box without extra stops at the gunsmith before you hit the range with it.
