AO Review – Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 “World Record Performance?”

By Patrik Orcutt

Anker was founded in 2011 by Steven Yang, a former Google engineer, and is a Chinese electronics company headquartered in Changsha, Hunan, known for its high-quality consumer electronics, particularly in charging technology products. Starting with a focus on laptop batteries, Anker has quickly expanded into power banks, chargers, cables, under brands like Soundcore, Eufy, and Nebula. The company gained a strong reputation for blending innovative design, reliability, and competitive pricing, and this has helped them become one of the biggest charging brands in the world. I have been using Anker products for years now and have always looked at them as being a premium brand. I reached out to Anker about 6 months ago and asked them to send me a few products for review, and they were very fast to ship them right to my door. One of those products was the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 Portable Power Station.

The Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 Portable Power Station was provided for this review by Anker, and while I am allowed to keep this product after the conclusion of this review, this will not change my opinion on any of Anker’s current or Future offerings.

First Impressions and Unboxing

When the SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 arrived at my door, the first thing that struck me was how solid yet compact the unit looked. If you’re used to lugging around old lead-acid batteries or bulky inverter generators, this thing feels almost nimble, and the included carry handles definitely help. The build is unmistakably Anker and reflects the same design philosophy of their other products. In the box came all of the essentials from the power station itself, an AC charging cable, a car charging cable, and a quick setup guide. No solar panels are included in the base package, but Anker offers bundle options if you want that capability right out of the gate.

 Day-to-Day Use

Once I powered it up, I immediately noticed the 10 available output ports, which include multiple AC ports, USB-C, USB-A, and a car socket. That versatility meant I could simultaneously charge my phone, run a laptop, power camera gear, and even plug in a small appliance like a blender or my food processor if I really needed to whip up some homemade tomato sauce and the power was out.

The C1000 Gen 2’s 2,000W continuous output with a peak of 3,000W is impressive for a ~1 kWh station, and in my use, it easily handled devices up to about ~1,500 W without even flinching. I hooked it up to one of my oil-filled mobile heaters because I live in Maine and it gets cold here. Regardless, the heater requires 1,500 W to operate, and the C1000 Gen 2 had no problem supplying that power for a limited time of course. But let me be clear, while it’s excellent for short bursts and medium-demand appliances, it’s not quite a whole-house solution if you’re thinking of powering an oven, HVAC, and other heavy loads for days. That’s just not this station’s use case, and it handles what it’s designed for exceptionally well. Most of the time, I keep the C1000 Gen 2 plugged in to the outlet below my desk, and it powers all of my workstation equipment throughout the day. This includes my computer, extra monitor, and whatever battery-powered devices are being charged at the time.

Recharge Performance & App

One of the biggest highlightsand a feature that was highly marketed was the HyperFlash charging. This unit goes from 0 % to 100 % in about 49 minutes using AC power, and this would be something I’d never experienced with other power stations that are even of a smaller capacity. I have to admit that this feature does work, and it’s pretty impressive to see it charge so quickly. If you’re someone who hates waiting hours for a recharge, this alone could be a major selling point point

The SOLIX app deserves a mention as once it is linked with your battery, it gives you a remote for monitoring of real-time usage, charge cycles, and even TOU (time-of-use) scheduling to take advantage of cheaper electricity if you’re on variable utility rates. It also lets you tweak charging speeds and get firmware updates. While all these feature feels like overkill for a unit of this size, for larger batteries or even home backup solutions, these are pretty cool features. I have been using the TOU features to set up a charging cycle for my desk workspace.  I highly recommend taking a few minutes to explore the app.

Internally, this station uses LiFePO₄ battery chemistry, which is known for safety and longevity. Specifications indicate you can expect over 4,000 charge cycles with ≥80 % capacity retained — potentially 7-10 years of typical use before significant degradation. That’s a major edge over traditional lithium-ion power stations. I can personally confirm it holds a charge exceptionally well, even after sitting unused for weeks.  When powering devices with a light load, C1000 Gen 2 stays surprisingly quiet, and you can barely hear the fan. That’s nice when you’re camping or working indoors near it. On heavier loads, you’ll notice the fans, especially when the unit is fully recharging in HyperFlash mode.

Real-World Use Cases

Here’s how I’ve personally used the SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 and what it excelled at:

Emergency Backup: During a weekend outage, it kept the fridge, router, lights, and phone chargers running for hours without stress — and took only minutes to recharge once power returned.

Trips & Camping: It fit neatly in the cargo area and powered my campsite lights, coffee maker, and laptops with ease. The fast recharge meant I could charge back up before the next day’s adventure.

Remote Work: In a cabin with limited grid access, it powered my MacBook and camera for full workdays

Final Thoughts: Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2

If you want a well-rounded, fast-charging, highly capable portable power station the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 is a great option with some nice features.  Its combination of speed, power output, sheer versatility, and durable LiFePO₄ battery technology makes it a solid investment, whether you’re prepping for emergencies or need a remote work backup power option. For me, it became one of those tools I use every day to keep my workstation powered up. It’s not perfect, but it’s powerful, flexible, and built to last and honestly, when you’re talking about dependable energy on the go, that counts for a lot.
