Athlon Ballistics App Update for Rangecraft Velocity PRO
Athlon Optics pushed a major update to the Athlon Ballistics app for Rangecraft Velocity PRO users, and if you do any serious load development the session velocity graph addition is reason enough to install it before your next range session.
The headline feature is Live View, which sends velocity data simultaneously to the chronograph screen and a connected mobile device over Bluetooth. You see shot data on your phone at the bench without walking back to the unit between strings. The audible readout builds on that, pushing velocity calls through your phone speaker, Bluetooth hearing protection, or wireless earbuds so you get the number without taking your eyes off the target. For a solo shooter running load development, those two features together eliminate the constant back-and-forth to the unit that breaks up a session.

The session velocity graph is what reloaders will spend the most time with. Each session now generates a visual line graph of velocity trends across the shot string, making it straightforward to spot consistency problems, compare load performance between strings, and track changes across sessions without hand-comparing raw numbers. Session merging lets you pull datasets from multiple range days on the same load into one consolidated record, which is useful for anyone who runs the same load development across several range trips before committing to a final recipe.
New features in this update:
- Live View: Simultaneous velocity display on chronograph and connected mobile device
- Audible velocity readouts: Via smartphone speaker, Bluetooth ear pro, or wireless earbuds
- Session velocity trend graphs: Visual line graph generated per session
- Session merging: Combine multiple sessions into a single dataset
- Enhanced Bluetooth connectivity with the Velocity PRO
- Updated UI and improved navigation throughout
Available on iOS and Android, free update through the app store. The Velocity PRO covers rifles, pistols, air guns, bows, and crossbows via Doppler radar. If you have not updated yet, do it before you head to the range.
