Berkley Swamp Lord Jr. Shrinks the Frog to a 2.25-Inch Profile
Frog fishing has one universal complaint, and it isn’t strikes. It’s converting those strikes into fish. The original Swamp Lord went after that problem, and now Berkley has shrunk the whole package down for the days when bass want something smaller.

The Swamp Lord Jr. is a 2.25-inch version of the standard model, and it carries over the same hook and body system that made the original work. That means angled Fusion19 hooks matched to an ultra-soft collapsible body, so when a fish crushes it the frog gives way and the points get where they need to go.
Swamp Lord Jr. Details:

The sealed construction is worth noting on a bait this size. Water intrusion turns a hollow body frog into a dead weight halfway through the retrieve, and Berkley sealed both the hook shank and the body chamber to keep that from happening.
Nathan Ragsdale, Senior Product Manager for Freshwater Bait at Berkley, said the compact option was one of the biggest requests coming from anglers and pro staff. That tracks with how frog fishing has gone the last few seasons. Pressure on public water keeps climbing, and downsizing is one of the few levers left when fish have seen every full-size frog in the tackle shop.

The smaller profile also skips better. A 2.25-inch bait gets under docks and into laydowns where a full-size frog would hang up, and it walks just as cleanly across open mats. When bluegill or small shad are the primary forage, that size match matters more than casting distance.

Only the standard model is offered, so there’s no popping version in the Jr. lineup right now. At $10.99 it lands where most premium hollow body frogs sit.
Are you downsizing your frog game this year, or sticking with the full-size profile? Let us know. We always appreciate the feedback.
