[CITY], [ST] — Canik, the pistol maker known for packing features into handguns at lower prices, has launched CANIK OPTICS. The line has four pistol red dots split across two families: the open-emitter ONYX series and the enclosed-emitter PHANTOM series.
All four models are priced from $259.99 to $299.99, use standard Shield RMSc or Trijicon RMR footprints, and carry an IP67 waterproof rating with up to 50,000 hours of battery life. Canik had already moved beyond pistols into suppressors before this launch.
The ONYX family: open emitter
The ONYXc Micro Reflex Sight is built for concealed carry and defensive pistols. It runs on a Shield RMSc footprint, has auto-brightness, and sells for $259.99.
The ONYX XL Competition Reflex Sight goes the other direction. It is aimed at competition and performance shooting, with an oversized viewing window on a Trijicon RMR footprint. It is also $259.99.
The PHANTOM family: enclosed emitter
The PHANTOMc Micro Enclosed Sight brings an enclosed emitter to carry size on a Shield RMSc footprint for $299.99.
The full-size PHANTOM Enclosed Red Dot Sight runs on a Trijicon RMR footprint. It adds solar assist, an external light sensor, and a backup rear sight, also for $299.99.
The enclosed models matter most to carry. Sealing the emitter behind glass keeps out rain, snow, lint, and gun oil. Those are the things a red dot riding inside a waistband deals with every day, not the things a range gun sees. Enclosed emitters have usually cost more than open ones. Canik is pricing its enclosed models $40 above its open ones.
Standard footprints
Canik used existing footprints across the line instead of creating a proprietary pattern for its own pistols. RMSc covers the compact sights and RMR covers the full-size ones. Mounting plates and optic cuts for both patterns already exist, so buyers are not stuck hunting for an adapter that fits only one gun.

Adam Ruonala, vice president of sales and marketing at Canik USA, said customers asked for optics built to the same standards as the company’s pistols. He said the line is meant for anyone shopping for high-performance optics, not only Canik owners.
The optic is the easy part
A red dot does not make anyone a better shooter on its own. Finding the dot fast on the draw, under stress, takes reps. If one of these goes on your carry pistol, budget for dry-fire and range time before you trust it on your belt. The mindset and the training carry more weight than the glass.
