While the title may sound surprising to some, our attentive readers would know that Beretta Holding acquired Holland & Holland a few years ago. Since then, Beretta has ceased manufacturing double rifles, leaving them exclusively to the English boutique. It was therefore expected to see a double rifle from H&H on the growing list of firearms celebrating Beretta’s 500th birthday.

Holland & Holland Beretta Anniversary Commemorative Edition: Introduction
Below, we can find an introduction to the double rifle, in Holland & Holland’s words:
“The heritage of Holland & Holland’s connection to Italian hunting spans well over a century, this coupled with our pinnacle gunmaking offering makes this ‘Royal’ Deluxe Double Rifle the most fitting tribute to Beretta’s 500 year milestone. To further bolster the authenticity of our offering, the rifle will be chambered in our proprietary round, the most iconic calibre on the planet - the .375 H&H.
Hand-built by master craftsman at our revered London factory, the ‘Royal’ Double Rifle is the very pinnacle of excellence and represents the ultimate expression of the genre.”
Technical Specifications
The canvas for this celebratory rifle is a .375 H&H “Royal” Double Rifle, characterized by its strong, yet elegant action, articulated front trigger, and patented ejector system.
The engraving artwork depicts a 1500s Venetian soldier with an arquebus, the Beretta villa in Gardone Val Trompia, and the logo of Beretta.
Price and Availability
Beretta’s celebratory pieces are one-off; however, H&H has an “Enquire” form on their product webpage. So, if you believe that a Holland & Holland “Royal” Double Rifle may be in your budget, maybe this specific version is accessible too.
