New Daiwa Saltiga Frother 170F – Definitive Bluewater Popper
Nothing beats a topwater bite; the visuals of foaming water and skying fish on your popper are more than enough to get your blood flowing. Daiwa knows this well and is bringing the Saltiga Frother 170F to the North American market for just that reason. This aerodynamic, tapered-tail popper can be cast straight through a headwind to reach a boiling ball of fish. This 170mm floating lure is over-engineered to be incredibly rugged, with a thick-walled ABS body and continuous through-wire skeleton. That way it can hold up to bite after bite from the biggest tunas. The popper’s action has been painstakingly engineered to maximize noise and splash on the surface while still producing a linear, rhythmic swim under the surface. Mimicking the erratic and panicked flight of injured baitfish, while not diving too deep or blowing out the surface.

“The SALTIGA FROTHER 170F delivers a sophisticated, dual-action presentation that completely changes how you work a surface bait,” said DAIWA Field Marketing Manager Chris Martin. “The performance is driven by an advanced dual-cup face design. It features a deep upper cup designed to aggressively catch the water on a hard pull, emitting a profound acoustic pop while trapping an immense pocket of air. Complementing the top half, a shallow lower cup continuously generates a fine, dense trail of micro-bubbles throughout the entire retrieve.”
The new Daiwa Saltiga Frother 170F is available for purchase now through Daiwa dealers, with an MSRP of $39.99 in 6 colorways: Clear Mint, Full Clear, Chameleon, Super Flash, Green Kauai, and Firefish.
