Federal Ammunition Introduces New Cosmic Target Loads

The Federal Cosmic Target Loads feature a UV-fluorescent Podium wad that glows under black light, delivering both visual feedback and dense patterns for hard-hitting lead pellets. The new 12 Gauge loads feature 1⅛ ounce #8 shot at 1,145 feet per second (FPS), which is one of the most popular loads for clay target shooting (according to Federal). These new loads are shipping to dealers nationwide after being manufactured and loaded in Anoka, Minnesota, and sold in 25-count glow-under-black-light boxes.

A Word from Federal on the NEW Cosmic Target Loads

“Anoka, Minnesota - September 8, 2026 - Federal Ammunition introduces its new Cosmic shotshells that light up nighttime clay target courses with a UV-fluorescent Podium wad and neon colors on the shells and box that glow under black light.

“Cosmic Clays shoots are becoming increasingly popular and are taking ranges across our nation by storm,” said Dan Compton, Federal’s Product Director. “The activity attracts younger shooters, or any fun-loving shooter, and serves as an entertaining way to spend time at the range during the daylight-starved days of winter. We wanted to take those nighttime black-light shoots and amplify them with fun shotshells that greatly enhance the shooting experience. And we certainly did that with this new target load.”
