Anyone who grew up with a Nintendo remembers Duck Hunt: lead the target, squeeze the trigger, and pray the dog doesn’t laugh. Denmark is now playing the grown-up version, with enemy targets that buzz instead of quack. In this Photo Of The Day, we take a new look at the Benelli M4 A.I. Drone Guardian.
POTD: Duck Hunt, Danish Edition - The Benelli M4 A.I. Drone Guardian
Benelli Armi and DALO, the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation, have signed a framework agreement to equip the Danish Army and the Home Guard with the shotgun in question.
Built on the M4, known to the U.S. Marines as the M1014, it adds Benelli’s Advanced Impact barrel with a lengthened forcing cone, tuned for 4/0 buckshot against small FPV drones out to roughly 50 meters.
Danish soldiers started training with Benelli M4 shotguns in the autumn of 2025, after a wave of drone sightings over Danish airports and military bases. A brand famous in the duck blind has found a whole new bird season.
Would you trust a 12-gauge as your last line of defense against a drone?
