Today, we have TFB’s threaded trio: three Glock 45s tuned for a variety of today’s shooters. Each built with a different purpose in mind, but all sharing the same 9×19 foundation. All three feature threaded barrels, but that’s where the similarities end.
One of the pistols is a G45 MOS equipped with a TriggerTech ACE trigger, a large Shield RMSx red dot, and an A-Tec suppressor. The suppressor will fit all of these G45s. This configuration leans toward a smooth, competition-style trigger feel paired with a lightweight open-emitter optic and a compact suppressor for reduced blast and noise. I need more time with this trigger, but it feels almost too good to be true when I dry fire - very close to an Open unlimited type of trigger. I wouldn’t carry with this kind of trigger installed.
In the middle sits the Glock 45 Hunter Edition, distinguished by its OD Green color. It’s running an Aimpoint COA red dot. This setup offers a robust, duty-oriented sighting system with good environmental resistance, and I look forward to shooting my first competition with it as well as seeing the A-Cut interface spread to more brands and slides.
The third pistol is an all-black G45 in a relatively stock configuration aside from its optics-ready slide. It carries a Shield OMSsc, marketed as the world’s first red dot with a translucent roof to increase ambient light intake for the emitter. Not sure if that really helps, but it looks cool. Combined with the threaded barrel, it shows how minimal changes can still create a capable, streamlined pistol.
Three pistols, three distinct configurations. Each is a different interpretation of what a modern Glock G45 can be. Let’s see what Gen 6 brings to the table.
