Cartridge reloading is a fast-changing world, with new rounds on the market every year—these days, straight-wall rounds, long-range precision ammunition and variations on the 5.56 NATO case are the main arenas of development for the consumer market, it seems. And the 12th Edition Hornady Handbook of Cartridge Reloading is here to guide you through the latest rounds and components used to make those rounds.
Handloading @ TFB:
Built for Hornady users
This handbook is of value for all reloaders, but it is specifically designed for those using Hornady components, including their bullets, as well as the latest powders from other ammo component manufacturers.
As per their description:
“This edition introduces groundbreaking bullet lines, including the CX®, ELD‑VT®, and Sub‑X®, alongside expanded data for proven favorites such as the ELD® Match, FTX®, SST®, and more. Propellants have been updated and expanded, with popular new powders like Winchester's StaBall Match, StaBall 6.5, and StaBall HD included with a wide range of cartridges.
To complement the new powders, the 12th Edition includes many new cartridge additions such as the 22 ARC, 22 Creedmoor, 6mm GT, 25 Creedmoor, 7mm PRC, 338 ARC, 400 Legend and others.”
How to get it
Remember Hornady’s reloading app? Introduced in 2024, the idea behind the app was obviously to take advantage of the public’s increasing move away from books, towards having all their information contained on an electronic device. But the Hornady app was also intended to make it easy to only pay for the reloading data and information you wanted, and this latest handbook is now available through the app. Hornady says, “ Reloading data is available as low as 99¢ per cartridge or purchase a subscription for $19.99 and receive new data before the next book is printed.”
You can also purchase the entire book in electronic form through the Kindle ($19.99) or Apple iBook ($19.99) stores. And of course, there is also a printed hardcover version, but right now, the Hornady website doesn’t have it in stock. It’ll cost you $60.59 when it’s back in stock there.
