Savage Gear 3D 4Play Herring – Bringing Blueback Herring to Life

Makers of highly realistic baits, Savage Gear is back, bringing life to blueback herring imitations with the new 3D 4Play Herring swimbait. This is a new swimbait that uses a 3D scan of a real blueback herring and photo-printed details to make a swimmer-style jointed swimbait that combines a realistic forage profile with an action built for targeting aggressive fish feeding on herring, shad, and other baitfish. Made for stability and control even at high speeds,  the 3D 4Play Herring can be burned across the surface to imitate a blueback herring or fast-fleeing baitfish. Perfect for targeting aggressive striped bass feeding on schools of blueback herring on the surface. Fished fast or slow, this blueback herring imitation produces a V-wake that is designed to draw fish in. When fished in a stop-and-go retrieve, the lure has a more erratic action. When stopped completely, the bait falls with a tantalizing tail shimmy to entice following fish another opportunity to commit. Each bait is equipped with super sharp treble hooks, with seven color options selected to match popular herring and baitfish profiles.

“Blueback herring fisheries can demand a completely different approach, especially when fish are actively feeding and moving with bait,” said Jared Kutil, Savage Gear Product Manager. “With the 3D 4Play Herring, we wanted to create a bait that anglers could fish fast and confidently while still delivering the realistic profile and action needed to imitate that forage.”

Tested and proven on Lake Lanier, Lake Murray, and Lake Hartwell, the 3D 4Play Herring was built with blueback herring fisheries in mind. It’s available in two sizes: 5.25-inch and 6.5-inch, and in 7 eye-popping color options. MSRP is set at $19.99 to $24.99 depending on the size.
