SHOT 2026: Taurus TX9, Judge 20th Anniversary, and What Else Taurus Brought to the Show
Taurus made a strong showing at SHOT Show 2026 in Las Vegas, bringing two major announcements to the floor: the all-new TX9 pistol platform and a limited-edition 20th Anniversary Taurus Judge. Here is a breakdown of everything Taurus brought to the show.
The Taurus TX9: A New Duty-Grade Platform
The TX9 is Taurus' first modern, duty-rated modular striker-fired pistol, and it launched at SHOT Show 2026 in three frame sizes to cover every use case.
Full Size: 4.5-inch barrel, 17-round magazine
Compact: 4-inch barrel, 15-round magazine
Subcompact: 3.5-inch barrel, 13-round magazine
The TX9 borrows the ergonomic grip design from the popular TX22 and features a trigger system similar to the GX4. It also carries over the TORO optics-ready cut from the G3, keeping compatibility with the existing Taurus optics ecosystem. Sights are industry-standard and compatible with Glock aftermarket options.
One of the standout features is the four interchangeable backstraps, which allow shooters to adjust the grip angle anywhere from a Glock-style to a 1911-style feel. Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the slide release, and the magazine catch is reversible.
The TX9 is assembled in the USA at Taurus' Bainbridge, Georgia facility, where final quality control and test-firing take place. Taurus also confirmed that grip modules, additional slides, and barrel options will be available soon through their online store, making this their most customizable handgun platform to date.
Law enforcement agencies overseas have already begun adopting the TX9, signaling that Taurus is serious about competing in the duty market.
Judge 20th Anniversary: A Collector's Edition
To mark 20 years of the iconic Taurus Judge, Taurus released a limited commemorative edition at SHOT Show 2026. Only 2,026 units will be produced, making this a true collector's piece.
The 20th Anniversary Judge retains the core specs that made the original famous: five-shot capacity, chambered for both .45 Colt and .410 shotshells, accepting up to 2.5-inch shells. What sets this edition apart is the presentation-grade craftsmanship. The stainless-steel frame and cylinder feature engraving on both sides. The left side of the barrel carries the "20th Anniversary" designation, and the right side displays the iconic Judge name. The premium wood grips are engraved with a gavel motif, a nod to the revolver's identity. A brass rod front sight completes the classic look.
This is not a safe queen that sacrifices shootability for aesthetics. The engraved Judge is still fully functional and built to the same standards as the standard model.
