An attempted residential break-in at a north Harris County apartment turned fatal on Saturday when a 911 caller shot and killed an alleged intruder. Officials with the Houston Police Department and county authorities confirmed that the caller’s girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend attempted to force entry into the occupied dwelling with a 3-year-old toddler in tow, prompting the defensive shooting while dispatchers were still on the line.
