An Echelon, but More Affordable? Springfield Armory Unveils the NEW Echelon Alpha
The Springfield Armory Echelon is the pistol of choice for a lot of shooters because of its wide package of accoutrements and modern features. The only gripe that some shooters raise is that the more tricked out variations might be too expensive for their budget. So, Springfield has heard that request and lowered their price-point with the unveiling of the Echelon Alpha!

The new Echelon Alpha from Springfield Armory has a new easier-to-attain MSRP starting out at $599, with a Cali-compliant variant being a touch more at $649. Many of the specs and attributes are going to be the same as the Echelons we already know.

The biggest differentiating factors from the Alpha and Echelons that are already out are a recontoured slide, only shipping with one stainless steel magazine, and utilizing white dot sights compared to a standard U-Notch rear sight and a tritium front sight with luminescent ring. These small tweaks were able to drop the retail price from $710 (standard Echelon) to $599 (Echelon Alpha). At this time of announcement, there are 3 initial model offerings to choose from:

Final Thoughts
I’ve been a fan of the Echelon from Springfield Armory for quite some time having used it to compete in The Tactical Games, deployed for concealed carry, and general fun at the range.
