Springfield Armory has announced a new offering in their 2011-style lineup with the unveiling of the 1911 DS Prodigy 3.5” AOS 9mm. This Prodigy is similar to those we have seen in the past except for the micro-esque barrel length of 3.5″. With a smaller barrel length and shorter overall dimensional footprint, this pistol will be easier than ever to carry for protection or to deploy from a holster for duty work.

The new Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 3.5” AOS 9mm (SKU: PH9114AOS) has a retail price of $1,582. This places this iteration of the Prodigy into a similar pricing territory as the variations that have come before it. Additionally, these pistols will come standard with an AOS cover plate, a Docter/Noblex-footprint AOS plate, and a coupon for an additional AOS plate of the customer’s choice at a reduced price of $49.
